More Than an Instrument. A Living Tradition

Why Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls Matter

The quality of an instrument shapes the quality of the experience.

Just as a concert pianist carefully selects a piano, we carefully chose the instruments that support our work. At Meta Ye, every sound experience is built upon authentic Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls—not because they are rare, but because they represent a living Himalayan lineage, exceptional craftsmanship, and acoustic qualities that align with our commitment to intentional, sound-based restoration.

These bowls are not the method.

They are the instruments that support our work.

Not All Singing Bowls Are Created the Same.

Why the Instrument Matters

The craftsmanship, materials, and resonance of an instrument influence the sound experience.

Not all singing bowls are created the same.

Today, singing bowls range from decorative souvenirs to factory-produced instruments and traditionally handcrafted therapeutic bowls. While many can produce beautiful sound, their craftsmanship, materials, and resonance vary significantly.

At Meta Ye, we believe that the quality of the instrument matters because it influences the quality, consistency, and depth of the sound experience.

For this reason, we intentionally chose to build our practice around authentic Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls.

A Living Tradition from Patan, Nepal.

Rooted in the Shakya Kasa Tradition

The instruments at Meta Ye carry a lineage shaped by generations of Newari craftsmanship.

Our instruments come from the Shakya Kasa tradition of Patan, Nepal.

For generations, the Shakya Kasa family has preserved the Newari tradition of metal craftsmanship, creating ceremonial metal objects that have served their community through life’s most meaningful moments.

Drawing upon this heritage, Master Santa Ratna Shakya developed the Full Moon Singing Bowl—a modern innovation rooted in traditional craftsmanship that is now used by professional practitioners around the world.

This living lineage represents more than history. It reflects generations of dedication, precision, and respect for the craft.

The Maestro Behind the Full Moon Singing Bowl.

Created by Master Santa Ratna Shakya

An instrument shaped by traditional craftsmanship, teaching, and continued innovation.

Master Santa Ratna Shakya is both a traditional Newari artisan and an internationally respected singing bowl teacher.

Building upon generations of family knowledge, he developed several modern therapeutic singing bowls, including the Full Moon Singing Bowl, while continuing to preserve the craftsmanship of his ancestors.

Sissy Ye studied directly under Master Santa Ratna Shakya, learning not only how to work with these instruments, but also the philosophy, craftsmanship, and traditions that surround them.

This lineage continues to inspire the work we do today.

Craftsmanship Guided by Intention.

Crafted Only Under the Full Moon

The creation of each Full Moon Singing Bowl follows a process rooted in preparation, tradition, and reverence

One of the defining characteristics of the Full Moon Singing Bowl is the way it is created.

Each bowl is handcrafted only during clear full moon nights. If weather conditions prevent the moon from being visible, production is postponed until the next lunar cycle.

Before forging begins, the artisans prepare themselves physically and mentally. They gather together, offer traditional prayers, and begin their work with intention, focus, and respect.

This process reflects the values of the Shakya Kasa tradition, where craftsmanship is approached with care, mindfulness, and reverence.

Designed for Rich, Consistent Sound.

Crafted for Exceptional Resonance

The craftsmanship of Full Moon Singing Bowls is reflected in their resonance, harmonic character, and tonal clarity.

According to the Shakya Kasa tradition, Full Moon Singing Bowls are crafted from a carefully refined, high-grade Kasa alloy using rigorous quality standards.

They are recognized for qualities such as:

  • Long-lasting resonance
  • Rich harmonic overtones
  • Tonal clarity
  • Consistent vibration
  • Responsive sound suitable for professional practice

These characteristics are among the reasons why Full Moon Singing Bowls have become highly valued by professional practitioners worldwide.

When Craftsmanship and Philosophy Align.

Why We Chose This Tradition

The choice of instruments became an important foundation of the Meta Ye approach.

After nearly three decades of exploring healing traditions across China, Japan, Nepal, and the United States, Sissy Ye discovered that authentic lineage and intentional craftsmanship mattered just as much as technique.

When she trained with Master Santa Ratna Shakya, she found instruments whose craftsmanship, philosophy, and resonance aligned with the kind of restoration she wanted to offer others.

That decision became an important foundation of Meta Ye.

Today, authentic Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls are the primary sound instruments used throughout our experiences.

The Bowls Are the Instruments. The Method Is the Foundation.

Supporting the Dual System Harmony Method™

Authentic Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls provide the acoustic foundation through which the methodology is expressed.

At Meta Ye, the bowls are not the therapy.

They are one essential component of the Dual System Harmony Method™.

Our methodology integrates:

  • The Chakra System

  • The Chinese Meridian System

  • Harmonic resonance

  • Thoughtfully selected therapeutic instruments

Together, these elements support our approach to nervous system regulation and whole-person restoration.

The instruments provide the acoustic foundation that allows our methodology to be expressed with consistency and intention.

Where Lineage Meets Original Methodology.

Honoring Tradition While Continuing Innovation

Meta Ye honors the foundation of the tradition while contributing its own methodology.

We believe that honoring tradition and pursuing innovation can exist together.

The Shakya Kasa tradition provides the foundation of our sound practice.

Building upon that foundation, Sissy Ye developed the Dual System Harmony Method™—an original approach that integrates authentic Kasa Full Moon Singing Bowls with the Chakra System and the Chinese Meridian System to support a structured path toward Whole-System Coherence™.

Our work honors the lineage while contributing our own methodology.

Respecting Tradition. Pursuing Excellence.
